Current openings for in-person therapy in Montclair and Ridgewood, NJ as well as virtually.

Dr. deFressine offers individual psychotherapy that is tailored to the needs of the client, including psychodynamic and relational therapy as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Dr. deFressine treats children, teens, and adults with a range of concerns including depression and anxiety, and challenges with self-esteem, relationships, and life transitions.

Dr. deFressine is currently offering DBT skills group (virtual). DBT skills group teaches mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal skills in an interactive group setting.
Social skills groups for children and teens are offered periodically.

Dr. deFressine provides parenting support sessions to help clients gain insight into their child’s unique challenges and ways to support and nurture successful social and emotional development.
About me
Lauren deFressine, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in New Jersey. She received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from The New School for Social Research. She has over a decade of experience in working with adults, children and families across a range of settings. She has had training in play therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has notable interests in working with issues of anxiety, mood disorders, low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties.
Dr. deFressine approaches therapy as a partnership, tailoring treatment to the unique needs of the client and taking a nonjudgmental, curious, and collaborative stance.
